Who Battery Payback serves

Battery Payback is built for people who already have solar panels and are considering adding a home battery. The calculator uses their own additional installed cost, electricity purchase price, export value, annual battery use, operating assumptions and real return target. It shows three user-defined scenarios, not a forecast.

Our battery guides cover the itemised quote, Tesla Powerwall 3, Sigenergy SigenStor and AlphaESS SMILE-G3. They do not rank products, promise savings, establish technical suitability or replace an installer's assessment.

This creates a focused journey from early research towards a better-informed quote conversation, without claiming that every visitor is ready or eligible to buy.

How a referral journey could work

A possible route from research to a quote conversation is:

1. A homeowner checks whether the existing-solar comparison fits their situation.
2. They use the calculator with their own or clearly illustrative assumptions.
3. They review the itemised quote checklist and product-specific questions.
4. Where relevant, a clearly disclosed commercial link can take them to an agreed quote or consultation route.

The commercial partner remains responsible for property eligibility, technical design, product availability, pricing, finance, warranties, installation, safety, compliance and customer service. Battery Payback does not pre-approve a home or promise that a quote will be available.

Potential partnership formats

Subject to a written agreement and suitability review, possible formats include:

• a clearly labelled contextual referral or affiliate link in a relevant guide or next-step area;
• a separate landing page for an agreed quote route or offer, with precise scope, geographic coverage, eligibility, expiry and disclosure;
• factual educational content that distinguishes information supplied by a partner from Battery Payback's own analysis; and
• aggregate referral reporting only after tracking, privacy, disclosure and technical implementation have been approved before publication.

No partner link or affiliate tracking is active on Battery Payback at present. Any tracking, new data processing or offer-specific implementation requires a separate reviewed change before publication.

Editorial and calculation safeguards

A commercial partner cannot set calculator formulae, defaults, scenario order, results, rounding or error states. Negative net saving, negative NPV and no-payback outcomes remain visible.

Battery Payback does not sell a positive conclusion, product ranking position, “best” claim, recommendation or an unsupported review claim. We identify a commercial relationship where its link or content appears. A partner may submit evidence for a factual correction, but cannot decide our conclusion.

Data, attribution and evidence

Calculator inputs are not intentionally sent to a commercial partner. A future commercial link may use only an attribution method agreed separately. Tracking or new data processing requires a separate privacy, disclosure and consent review. See our privacy details.

Audience and performance information is shared only from measured data, with the relevant period, geography and scope. We do not present projections as observed results or use a partner's marketing claim as evidence of household savings. Each reported metric must also have a clear definition.

What we need from a partner

To assess a proposal, please provide:

• your organisation and primary contact, geographic coverage, and offered products, configurations and exclusions;
• the intended quote or consultation journey and current commercial terms;
• the attribution window, deduplication rules, tracking requirements and relevant service providers;
• consumer-facing disclosure requirements, eligibility, availability, expiry and cancellation terms;
• evidence for factual product, service, price or accreditation claims; and
• a named operational or compliance contact for corrections.
